Top 13 Personal Favourit Doctor Who episodes/stories,Part 1 ( Honourable Mentions - 11.)

Written By and Hosted by: Nils Emil Berggren of DeviantArt's account RobinLightwalker.

Doctor who?

Theme: I Am The Doctor (Every Star Every Planet)

Doctor who is one AWSOME show, it is by far the longest running sci-fi and action adventure showing of all time and with Series 7 just finnished, it finished last week with my 2nd favourit Modern Doctor Who Series final,The Name of The Doctor and 50th anniversary special coming ever so closer by the minute, I thought it was finally time to let all of you devoted Doctor Who fans in my audience know what this lover of Doctor Who thinks of the show and what his own Personal Favourit stories of the EXTREMLY long running show is.

You heard me right, this show has been running ALMOST none stop from 1966 to now and it is still going.

Doctor who is one of my favourit Tv shows of all and it so desserves it spot in my heart and as one of the BEST shows on the freaking planet.

But why 13,that is an unlucky number? Well, last countdown, the Top 6 IMO WORST Doctor who stories had that number because of that was the number of on-screen incarnations of the The Doctor's Rival, The Master, and this time, I choose the number 13 because that is the number of lives a Time Lord can have. A time lord can regenerate 12 times, living up to 13 lives in total and here.....here are some of the greatest moments in The Doctor's many lives.

[link]

Now, This list is actually a Top 17, I couldn't really settle myself at just 13 stories, no, I just couldn't,there are faaaaaaaaar to many stories in this amazing show that I just love, so those four stories are getting thier spot in the spotlight for just a while.

I present to you. My Honourable Mentions.

Top 13 Personal Favourit Doctor Who Episodes,Part 1: Honourable Mentions/17 - 11.

[link]

Number 17:
The Deadly Asssasin.
Doctor: 4th. Tom Baker.
Theme: [link]

Oh yeah.....starting of big time with this list with one of Doctor Who's most famous and most spoken about stories of all time and if you ask me, it is by far Doctor Who's darkest story. Atleast in the classic area, definently Classic Doctor Who's darkest, most violent, gothic and scariest story. And that is definently personified in the villian of the story, the 2nd onscreen incarnation of The Master: [link]

Just yeeesh. The Master looks just down right hidious in this story is he is just down right terrifying at times.

This story has alot to offer and alot for me to like: There are alot of dark themes in this story. There are themes of: Curroption, passificism, modainism, manipulations, lies, murder, decit, betrayl. All of beatifully mixed together with enough nightmare fuel to give nightmares to a GOOD creepy pasta. And that is saying something.

This story is full of suspence all the way and MANY of the MANY twists you both see coming aswell as not see them coming. Prepare for quite the lot of great and terrifying shocks. The amount of murderes and detah there is in this episode is just well........horrifying,especially if you know how The Master Kills.Another Yeesh.

This story also has one of my favourit cliffhangers in all of doctor who. The firts cliffhanger of the story, that is just FANTASTIC visual manipulation. I LOVE when the 4rth wall tricks the characters and there by the audience.

Now if you excuse me, I have to go and puke, The Master is just far to ugly to look at.

"pukes"

Don't worry, let's go around the corner please for the next number.

Number 16:
Turn Left.
From Series 4.
Doctor: 10nth.David Tennant.
Theme: [link]

Wow......just wow.......for anyone who has ever complained about RTD's writting capabilities or just didn't like him and his writting....just wooooow......this episode is for you......because it smacks you right up into your face of just how mutch of a brillijant writter he was. Just wow..............just try and imagine a world without The Doctor.......all the things he has done.....all the monsters and disasters he has stopped.......just wow.........all because Donna Noble turned right instead of Left. She changed the world. For the better for her for just a moment......then just EVERYTHINg freaking went to FLIPPING HELL!!!!

A world without heroes, a world without saviors.....a world without someone saving us when we can't save ourselves......is a world that is being destroyed from the outside aswell as the inside............and dear (time)lord......is it horrifying to see........I have to say......out of all the MANY great stories of Series 4, this is by far the most emotional out of them......okay,there is one more that I think is even more emotional then this, because here comes the truth. This is only my 2nd favourit story of Series 4 and well............you have to wait for my favourit........RTD took a HUGE risk doing what he did in this episode.....yet it seemed like it would have always gone down to just this. In the end, Series 1 to 4 didn't revolve around Rose Tyler.....it revolved around Donna Noble.

And that my dear friends.....is freaking brillijant.

Number 15:
Genesis of The Daleks.
Doctor: 4rth.Tom Baker.
Theme: [link]

YEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!!!!!!!!!I said it. I FREAKING said it. The story that sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many claims is The Best Doctor Who story ever is not my favourit Doctor Who story of all time,it is not even my favourit Tom Baker story or my favourit Dalek story at all. It is only my 2nd favourit Tom Baker story and third favourit Dalek story.

The Reason is because while this 6 parter is IMMENSLY suspenceful, dark, intruging and clever the whole problem is the fact that this isn't a 4 parter,it is a 6 pater and well......the 6 parter feels like it is in reality 3 2 parters after one another each charing the same name. It feels like The Trial of the time lords except it has no secondary plot inbetween the three stories, it only has one and well, I mean it,this 6 parter was all written by the same man, Terry Nation, the original creator of The Daleks and well, it feels almost like every episode is an individual story by itself, nothing else.

This story may be awsome and well, fantastic and brillijant in many ways, but the fact that it feels like it is 3 2 parters after one another makes the entire story feel padded in some ways, that and the fact that the episodes feels way to individualised and well, one last thing.

THE FIRST AND THE LAST CLIFFHANGER SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[link]

Number 14:
Frontios.
Doctor: 5th: Peter Davison.
Season: 20 or 21.

In the original version I had for this countdown, this story was actually in the actual countdown and not in the honourable mentions. And you wanna know why?

Because this is one of the most epic and spectacular and well....coolest and most darring story I have ever seen in the entire series. And it was this story that cemented Peter Davison's Doctor as the man who solves a catastrophe through talking for me.

This story is just epic, darring and awsome in so many aspects. It even manadges to creep some scary things into it aswell.

And what made this story so memorable for me and one of my favourits actually was one thing.

The ending of Part 1. The cliffhanger. The VERY first cliffhanger of the story.

THE TARDIS IS DESTROYED!!!!!!!!!!!THE TARDIS IS DESTROYED IN A METEOR STORM THAT TURNS EVERYONE AGAINST THE DOCTOR AND STRANDS HIM AND HIS FRIENDS ON FRONTIOS FOREVER!!!!!!And the only thing left of The Tardis is a cloth hanger. EVERYTHING else is destroyed. EVERYTHING.

And that is is just the FIRST cliffhanger.

Talk about something that would have changed the entire program if The Doctor had lost his Tardis FOREVER. Luckiliy, by the end of the 4rth part, The Doctor tricks the main villian of the story(it ha smultiple antagonistic characters in it)into defeateing himself by fixing the Tardis and well.....the day wasn't th eonly thing saved by that villian in the end.In the end, it was thanks to him that The Doctor can still travel in time and space.

I don't wanna spoil to mutch about this story because as I said, this is one of my favourits.

But I will tell you this, since Peter Davison is my favourit incarnation of The Doctor, this won't be the last 5th Doctor story you will see on this list. Because this is only my 9th favourit Peter Davison story.

Anyway, here we go.

The real countdown begins now.

And is another 5th Doctor Story.

Number 13:
Four to Doomsday.
Doctor: 5th. Peter Davison.
From: Season 19.

Ahhhhhh the Nostalgia......to put this bluntly and simply, after Series 1 as a whole, this was the first ever Doctor Who story that I ever saw and it was the first classic Doctor Who story that I ever saw. But that is not why it is on this list. No. You know what I think of people saying something is just uncomparable just because of thier nostalgia towards it. If not: Go and check out Why do I Think Nostalgia is Curropt.

No,this story is one of my all time favourit Doctor Who stories because of well....how utterly efficent, effective and SCARY this story is. I am serious, this story still gives me the shivers whenever I think of this story. It is that effective and good at being it that even thou I haven't that story in a LOOOOOOOOOOONG while(even thou it is in its entirety on YouTube and it was there where I saw it the first time)I am still Creeped out of the cheer thought of that story.

And why am I so creeped out of the story when in its whole and on the surface,it is a VERY harmless and rather boring story.

You have think that hasn't seen the first and second cliffhanger of this 4 part masterpiece of a simple yet effective and efficent horror story. Seriously, the first cliffhanger is just downright frightening one you get it through your head and the second one. Huuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Still gives me the shivers.

Those 2 cliffhangers still to this day stand out for me and well, those two cliffhangers are some of my favourit cliffhangers in all media and in all of Doctor Who.

And it is thanks to the cheer terror and horror and how inspiring this story was for me that this story is here on this list.

Dear lord, I am rambling, I better stop. Next number please.

Number 12.(John Hurt):
The Ark in Space.
Doctor: 4rth: Tom Baker.

Tom Baker was the actor that lasted/Stayed the longest as The Doctor. Tom Baker was The Doctor for 7 whole years of the show and 7 seasons at that, but to think that all he needed to do to impress me was not to throw me a story that is in the middle of his career like the afor mentioned The Deadly Assasin or The Pyramids of Marsh, nor is my favourit Tom Baker story from his last season, even thou Full Circle,Warrior's gate and The Keeper of Trakken are FANTASTIC stories,my favourit Tom Baker story is the 2nd story in his very first season. The Ark in Space.

The Ark in Space is filled with frights, scares, excellent and clever writting, suspence to the highest degrees and some damn real and frightening horror. Seriously, I get Clastrophia just like Sara Jane did in her clastrophic scene, it is that effective and good and well....the fact that I feel her fear just shows you how good this story is.

All thanks to the original creator of The Master and one of the best writters of the series, Robert Holmes.

Robert Holmes was EXTREMLY frightening at making EVERYTHINg frightening and doing it in a character driven and clever way. And that is just damn impressive and inspiring.

And this story, whitch is to me, Tom Baker's ABSOLOUTE best story he EVER did for Doctor just sums up his ability to scare the little children and even teenagers like me and well, I guess that even some adults are scared of this story because it really has some damn strong staying power.

Not since Four to Doomsday have I ever been this frightend of a Doctor Who story and it took The Deadly Assasin to beat this, but it was to focused on being gothic rather then scary,so yeah, I consider The Ark in Space to be both darker and scarrier then The Deadly Assasin.

And yet, I still only consider this Doctor Who's 2nd scariest story(The Deadly Assasin is 4rth, Four to Doomsday is 3rd,atleast the cliffhangers 1 and 2)and this is still only my 2nd favourit Doctor Who story written by Robert Holmes.

Now,with all that built up, let's get to the countdown where I am going to do my darnest to use Doctor Who for this countdown.

[link]

Number Geronimo is Cool now, [link] , 11 ,Matt Smith:
Terminus.
Doctor: 5th.Peter Davison.
From: Season 20.The Black Guardian Trilogy,Part 2 of 3.(number 1 on my previous list was 3 of 3)

Yes, Peter Davison strickes back ones again, because he is here,2 down, more then half of this list to go,he was THAT good to me.

And talk about an underrated gem of a story. Mnay modern day fans sees this as one of the absolote worst Doctor Who stories ever, it is here on this list because I think differently. I think of it as one of Doctor Who's most suspenseful stories out there and well, it is not as creepy as the other ones I have mentioned before this, but it still got ALOT of jumps and scares here and there, yet it is a surprisingly nice story aswell. It has some complicated things going on,yet it is good enough to explain it to make it all become clear and simple.

Plus, the fact that not only does it have one of my favourit 1st and 3rd cliffhanger of the program(This seems to be a trend with this list)but it also has an origin of the universe theory that I would gladly take over The Big Bang.

The Big Bang's origin of the universe theory is FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR to complicated and yet faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar to simple for me to fully enjoy it and think of it as real. The origin of the Universe in this story is alot more logical and it actually KINDA makes some sense once you think about it and well, once you think about Temrinus and the theory of its location in the universe, it makes both sense and it makes sense for the story.

But I still know why people hate this story. And you wanna know what? All of it is in my eyes just implied, hinted, red haired or it is just unnoticeable.

Terminus isn't one of Doctor Who's worst stories, it is one of the best, because unlike The Big Bang(Theory) it makes sense. It actually makes more sense then The Big Bang in my eyes and ears and well, it is a shame that people think that one of Doctor Who's cleverest and for some spookiest stories ever as one of the worst stories of all time of the show. All because of implied, hinted at or unnoticable nudity.

I really don't understand the British people and The fanbase of Doctor Who. I really don't.
