Hello, fellow patrons. My name is RobinLightwalker, or well, that is the screen name that I have used all over the internet.
My real name is Emil Berggren and my dream is to become a publicized author. I am already well on my way of becoming one as I have already been working on my book for years and now I am giving you a chance to make your own mark on the book.
Let me tell you about my book.
My book is called "The Epics Of Robin Lightwalker", a space opera epic that is gonna cover multiple perspectives of several different characters of different origins and background in a world torn apart by a violent war fueled by both religious and political disagreements that have left the galaxy divided into three parts.
The Light Confederacy: A religious group that is leading the galaxy of Idiom towards a brighter future with their golden guidance and has been for many years.
The Grey Republic: A large, capitalistic union that wants nothing with the war between the two sides yet is at the same time more than happy to help both sides win the war as long as they are left alone.
The Revolutionary Alliance: The outer most sector of the galaxy that after years of peace from The Light Confederacy's efforts to protect it have suddenly rebelled against them and are now fighting them on all fronts, be it on the battlefield, or on the political arena.
The Epics of Robin Lightwalker is fully intended to be an Epic that lives up to its name. Both in length and it's scope as the conflict is spread all across the galaxy.
But despite the scope of what I want to do and am already in the process of creating, I am only human and because of the quality that I want my work to hold, I have a tendency to spare very few expenses when it comes to making my book as good as I can make it.
If you become my patron, you will be helping me economically and the money that you will give me will both help me in real life with real-life expenses, but will hopefully make it possible for me to commissions the artists that are already on board with my project more often, leading to further quality illustrations.
As my patrons, you will become a part of the process of creating my book.
Your economic patronage will make it able for me to continue doing what I love, working on the book.
But for the higher tiers, you will actually be able to become a part of my work.
Before I continue, I will be completely transparent with you all and tell you straight up that regardless of what tier you choose to support me with, I will not grant you access to the document where I am working on the book. For that I am sorry, but I feel as my paranoia is justified given this day and age.
But I will still share my book with you, my lovely patrons.
Regardless of what Tier you choose, your name, be it given name or a name of your choosing, will be put in and personally thanked as an economic and creative contributor at the front page of the book. But to avoid any potential controversies, no joke names, what name will be on the first page of the book will be settled between us.
Tier 1 and up will all gain access to my personal server dedicated to the book where I am already publishing parts of the process as the book progresses, but you will also gain access to the two book-related rewards of the server.
The Tree of Inspiration: A backward look at all of my characters, parts of my world and story and a first-hand retelling of the tree of inspiration and ideas that have lead to what they are going to become in the book.
Reward will be given: As of now: Every other Monday.
Character WIPs: Related to the above reward, all patreons will be able to see all the WIPs of all the characters from the book, with the original artist express permission given before. Links to the artists will be provided for all wips included.
Reward will be given: As of now: Every other Sunday.
Tier 3 and up will gain access to the Chapter Previews. Where every Friday, I will be putting the first 5 pages of a given chapter in the book here on Patreon for you to get a look at what has already been written.
Be warned: I will only be previewing finished chapters, so when the previews eventually catch up to the book, you will be getting this only when the chapters are completed.
Tier 5 and Tier 10 are special reward tiers. They include all of the rewards of the previous two tiers but also come with special rewards for those that prove their loyalty.
Both Tiers are loyalty based and have a waiting period of two months for 5 Tier and four months for the 10 Tier out of precaution.
Once the time has passed, all patrons in these Tiers will be rotated through in order of patronage where they will be contacted and their reward will be settled between us.
Tier 5 is a background character tier.
Books have ALOT of characters in them and my mind tends to focus very little on the names of the background characters, usually reducing them to their looks or their profession.
And this is where Tier 5 comes in.
Tier 5, after a two month loyalty waiting period, will get the reward of giving these background characters and extras a name, which they will be given for as long as they are around.
Tier 10 is the Support & Minor Characters Tier.
This Tier is fundamentally the same as Tier 5, but unlike Tier 5, these characters are a bit more important to the plot than a simple one-off background character.
But due to their status as plot points and plot devices, my mind hasn't come up with any names to any of these characters.
And that is where Tier 10 comes in.
While, just like in the 5 Tier, you won't get any creative input of what these characters that you provide names for do or how they are treated in the plot, they are significantly more important to the story as a good majority of these characters will directly influence the plot and interact with the main characters of the story. Some of them will even have personal arcs that they go through in their sole arcs.
What I want with this patron campaign is to create a creative and supportive community. Both economically, but also creatively as any and all patrons here will both see my creative process at work, but the higher tiers will be active participants in it.
